Cathy is a nurse attorney.  She graduated from U.W. Madison with a BSN in 1984, and from the Franklin Pierce Law Center in Concord New Hampshire with her law degree in 1992.  Cathy practiced emergency nursing for over 25 years in New York, Boston, and Madison. Cathy has practiced in the field of medical malpractice defense litigation, the defense of nurses in disciplinary actions, and more recently is providing patient advocate services to the elderly to assist them in navigating the difficult path of changing healthcare needs.

As a patient advocate Cathy provides the following services: advanced care planning, drafts advanced directives, appeals any disputed medical treatment charges, serves as guardian, assists in choosing appropriate long-term placement, attends medical appointments, provides 24 hour on call for emergency department visits, explain medical records, and participate in shared decision making upon request.  Click here for more information.
